stupider than non-smartphone
Nov 7, 2009Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: Big screen, great design, good camera
Cons: lack of basic features, touchscreen not very usable, GPS and map lacking
Opinion:
This is a good multimedia gadget as long as you don't use it as a phone. Very high resolution screen for great movie, with 2GB build in memory. Very good camera with plenty of special effects.
As a phone, the inaccurate touchscreen and jumpy scrolling make reading sms a pain. The lack of basic function such as copy and paste as well as the lack of search for contact (it's sorted by first name and only jump accordingly to first name) make this phone's tagline of smarter than smartphone quite the opposite.
Very very short battery life!

Worst touchscreen
Sep 19, 2009Rating: 2 out of 10 (Terrible)
Pros: 800Mhz processor
Cons: bad touchscreen,software errors,battery life
Opinion:
Have had this phone for 3 weeks now.And it is a piece of crap.It has great features but it has way too many defects.
Rating: 0.5/5
After using it for 3 weeks,it started give me problems.
- When I try to dial a number in the keypad, and after dialing like 4 digits it automatically calls, without allowing me to dial the entire number
- When browsing through the phone book contacts,it automatically dials a random contact
- It does not allow me to search the contacts
- And when u switch off and power on the phone,it freezes and there is no way to switch off the phone but to remove the battery
- It always freezes like after using it for 15 mins
And after spending this much money,it's worthless.Never buy this phone. And they are not even willing to replace the handset.
Do not drop the phone
Sep 8, 2009Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: user-friendly, sensitive touch screen
Cons: fragile touch screen
Opinion:
Overall a nice and user-friendly phone. However, when I accidentally dropped the phone when it was only 1 week old, there were 2 visible cracks on the screen. The touchscreen was hence rendered useless. Couldn't make a phone call and had much difficulty sending messages.
LCD not under warranty so had to pay S$106.75 for baseline repair. After which, was told that warranty will be void for the phone. Service staff told me touchscreen phones are very fragile so the LCD screens will crack once we drop the phone. I beg to differ. Have been using HTC Diamond for about 10 months and have dropped it so many times. The LCD screen was still ok. I even dropped the HTC Diamond right in front of the service staff. He was speechless.
Overall, was rather disappointed with the fragile touch screen panel.
A features-packed phone at reasonable price
Aug 29, 2009Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Nice screen, design, many features
Cons: Poor battery life, touch screen too sensitive during scrolling
Opinion:
A nice phone with brilliant screen and full of features at a reasonable price. However, I am quite disappointed with the battery life. Phone brightness level set to 1, no wifi or bluetooth, not on 3G network, but battery still drop by 2 bars after 2-3 hours. I brought back for a 1 to 1 exchange with Singtel but problem still exists.
Another problem is the volume control of the music player. Whenever I switched from Silent profile to Normal profile, the music player's volume control would not work. Volume is very soft but it is working fine for radio function. Strange...
Any users facing the same problems? thanks...
