Pretty good but not the best
Dec 3, 2009Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: camera is not bad ,crystal clear phone calls, wifi, gps, and a load more stuff
Cons: build quality is average ,soft speaker,no autofocus ,unable to install garmin software unlike nokia s60 phones
Opinion:
i've been using this phone for a while now i find the camera is pretty good only thing is that it doesn't have autofocus and auto flash which is slightly irritating .The loudspeaker is average no where close to the nokia Xpressmusic series sound quality like the nokia 5320 that i was using previously. At first the phone will be a bit slow once u have put in a memory card but after probably a day it will speed up to normal speed but still relatively good.when making phone calls the sound quality is brilliant and crystal clear the battery life is also not bad it will last about 2days with heavy usage of wifi and normal day to day use.The best part of this phone is the wifi the connection speed is good due to its 3G connection that the phone has and u can even download games softwares or anything of the internet .Another plus point about this phones ... Cheaper in Philippines
Aug 3, 2009Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: Excellent Specs
Cons: Bad built
Opinion:
I have been saving up to buy a smartphone with wi-fi, hsdpa and 3g. Reviewing specs of new phones that comes out. This one caught my attention in the newspaper. It says it has Wi-fi and it cost lest than USD224 or Php 11,000. A cheap mid-range phone with Wi-Fi? I reviewed it immediately but I was discouraged at last by user opinions regarding its looks and built. LOL! Will look for another one. Maybe the G900 or C905. SE fan here. Nice mediocre try SE. Fastest SE Phone Ever
Apr 4, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Fast Response, Well Equip
Cons: Not very durable
Opinion:
I was using a Nokia 5800 before, but trade it in for this. The G705 definately is fast for texting. The startup time may be a bit slow, but I hardly ever switch off the phone anyway.
GPS lock on is ultra fast. It never takes more than 20 seconds in Mong Kok, Hong Kong.
Wifi is a plus, though not neccessary, but does help a lot when I try checking e-mails when roaming.
Screen wise, the colour reproduction is great. Colour reproduction is is ok, better than the 5800, but lacking from a C902.
However, the paint on the direction pad has fallen off after 3 months. I wish they could be like the W910, at least, which condition is even better after a year's use.
good hardware, slow software
Mar 23, 2009Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: value for money, got all features
Cons: slow software
Opinion:
i bought this phone last wk. I was attracted by its wifi and GPS.
My last phones were K810i and Nokia 6120 classic.
pro: this phone is value for $, S$198 after trade in my N6120, and comes with everything: wifi, radio, GPS, 3MP camera, video, big screen... etc; oh, the contacts search is no longer confined to the 1st character of the name (which bothered me when using K810i).
con: software is buggy... selecting contacts for SMS takes more than 10s, some java games I downloaded hang when loading. Battery life is 2~3 days for normal usage, considerably shorter than my previous phones. I haven't figured out how to use wifi to browse, the phone doesn't ask (unlike Nokia wifi phone) when I have connected to internet. I have feeling the phone used 3G to go online, will check out my phone bill.
Generally it's a good "basic phone" if you don't mind the slow software response. if ... Read more
Whole phone is wobbly, navigation keys dont respond, plastic back cover cracks, screen went blank.
Mar 4, 2009Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: Fast internet access
Cons: Whole phone is bad! Very defective model, badly built.
Opinion:
I had the phone for 3 weeks, and during these 3 weeks, it was in the service centre for 1 and 1/2 weeks! The phone's built is sub par and it is very defective! The phone wobbles a lot when you are typing! Unlike the dummy one
on display which is built solid. And it actually emits creaking and cracking sounds when typing as the plastic cover behind is not fitted neatly with the
phone's body! Navigation keys dont respond, or slow to respond when I depress it, making it a real FRUSTRATION. I send the phone in for repair after 7 days of use. Then 2 days after I got it back from the service centre, the screen went blank on me with lines running on the top. I asked for a full refund or exchange to another model. The service centre then went quiet without responding to my ... Read more
