Good phone, nice phone and nice features

Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: Slim and lightweight.
Cons: Speakers terrible soft. Impossible to hear the ringtone when phone is in handbag.
Opinion:
I like all features of this phone, apart from the fact that the speakers are far too soft. My previous phone K810i is far better in that respect and I am, indeed, contemplating to put my phone on the shelve and go back to my K810i, which is superior in use.

Basic phone; don't expect fireworks

Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: Slim, lightweight
Cons: Frequently restarts, poor camera quality
Opinion:
For use as a phone, the w890i performs all the basic functions that I need (calling, answering, alarms). Beyond that, the performance is disappointing; below average even. The phone restarts itself frequently; not only that, the restarts can be consecutive up to 3-4 times which is highly annoying. Some restarts are also accompanied by the message that the phone cannot detect my SIM card. This is the most frustrating aspect of the phone.

I was previously a Cybershot model user (I used my beloved k800i for more than 2 years) and so the cam quality of the w890i was a nasty shock. Pictures are often blurry and there is considerable lag. There is no flash and no macro function. The latter I missed very much as I enjoy taking very detailed close-ups. And you can forget about shooting at night. Even though there is a night mode for the camera, you need to either have a tripod or a ... Read more

almost perfect

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: great design, nice music playback
Cons: no 3.5 mm jack, restarts frequently
Opinion:
this phone is great with great music and lots of features, but lacks a 3.5 mm jack for convenience, and often restarts itself. hope SE puts a 3.5 mm into their later models.

Perfect Slim

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Design and its balanced features
Cons: Not all in one phone and hopeless camera function
Opinion:
The phone form and design is pretty slim, firm and light to carry and I use this to surf internet using Opera Mini as well as other online application. With its 3.5G connection, the download speed is much faster than K770i. The Music function is also reasonably good giving me the enjoyable function of listening to music while surfing the net for news and checking ebay.

Sony Ericsson has a distinct segment for their Cybershot, Walkman and smartphone. With this, perhaps it is clearly differentiate the targeted users and at the same time it is also a major setback as most of us prefer all in one solution. Having said so, this particular model has a totally hopeless camera function which takes blur images for your candid shot and lacking of many functions in its camera department (things like auto focus, macro function, flash etc) which perhaps compensated by its strong music function. Anyway, hopefully SE consider of making ... Read more

SEXY yet BRAINY!

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Design, Build Quality, Sound Quality (can compete with a stand alone mp3s out there), Tons of cool feats
Cons: tiny screen...though its still very decent. more than decent...but could be slightly bigger ;)
Opinion:
I was really planning on buying the SONY S-series walkman, but I dont like carrying many gadgets.I was amazed that the sound quality produced by this phone is very decent and nice, that it can compete with many mp3 players i know, so instead of carrying my old phone + an mp3 player, i opted for this one, a very capable, nice looking mp3 player phone....U cant go wrong with this one folks, camera is ok, this is no cyber shot of course.
