Once gotten used to it's a very good PDA and a decent phone.
Jan 14, 2009Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: A moblie office computer.
Cons: Shortcuts on the today screen could work better.
Opinion:
I have the "C" version and it works great for someone that needs to carry around a lot of contacts and office documents. It does take quite some time to learn to use it effectively as a phone.
Poor photo taking
Sep 12, 2008Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: Fast to load MS office file, nice appearance
Cons: Bulky, poor photo quality, short battery life
Opinion:
I've just own this gadget less than two weeks ago at Comex IT fair and it costed me almost $600. Its appearance and its MS office editting ability captures my interest and I bought it without much checking other similiar items.
The keypad is pretty hard to control and my letters keep jumping around the place when I type each word. The files in the memory card cannot be viewed directly unless I copy and paste them onto my laptop. Taking out the memory card buried under the cover is almost impossible and the cover is so difficult to pry open.

Pros: Good Internet connection, camera good, navigator good,
Cons: Hangs for no reason,no update from official HP side, ring tone very bad,sms alert bad, user friendly no,battery oh my gosh,
Opinion:
The brand "HP" supposed to carry the weight but a big NO.This is the first smart phone i got at RM1999.The experiance i received makes me feel my old motorola L6 was much better.First of all I went to HP official site to know who are the reseller and bought from them. Its been 2 weeks since i got the phone and not happy at all for the price i paid.It hangs, hangs and hangs.Sometimes when i received call it rings then stop, rings then stop as thou the system going hay wire.So i have to reset many times. Its has put me to shame in front of my customer whenever it hangs and there are times I can't close the programms, every time i close ,it pop out again.Thinking it been infected with virus, i downloaded kapersky free mobile antivirus but no virus was detected .The best part would be there not even a single update from HP official site. They only have for ... HP IPAQ 612C only look good
Aug 28, 2008Rating: 3 out of 10 (Poor)
Pros: Rather slim, screen bright
Cons: Slow, not user friendly, quite pathetic
Opinion:
Just got the HP, as a gift. The only thing that I like better than the Dopod 838 pro that I am using is that it is slimmer. Absolutely not user friendly, and it doesn,t have IR!! But somehow I managed to sync some contact from my Dopod before I found out it does not have IR! Worse is that it is slower than my Dopod which I had been using for more than a year!1
Swiss Ultima army knife of PDA Phones: Sharp, sure & very handy.
Aug 12, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Very classy, unpretentious looks. Solid build. Easy, sure grip shape, size and finish; not slippery. Incredible mobile radio reception - works 3 floors under the ground leaves all other expensive mobile phones for "dead". Gorgeous, contrasty, highly legible transflective screen works in and out of sunlight. High quality camera. Beautiful, pleasing sound - not creaky or squeky. Fast GPS. Fast, robust operation; good software & hardware integration. Excellent stylus. Reasonably slim extended battery available now.
Cons: Thumb navigation wheel cannot replace D-pad. Slightly "quirky" location of stylus (on the left).
Opinion:
Let me put it this way: If iPaq 612c had D-Pad, it will score 10/10 - perfect PDA GPS Mobile Phone fully capable of one-handed navigation and operation. Alternatively, if Treo 750 had screen, GPS, stylus, and mobile radio of iPaq 612c, it would be the perfect PDA phone for me. As it is, iPaq 612c Touch Smart navigation to me rates a "6.5" versus "10" for D-pad. Nevertheless, HP has achieved near-perfect full-featured phone with as few moving parts as possible (how durable and reliable are sliding keyboards?) with near-perfect balance of usability and size. Great phone - my best ever.
