Looks ugly yet interesting
Oct 23, 2007Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: A lot
Cons: No one-key exit from menu
Opinion:
I'm a Nokia user for many years so what do you expect? Scroll keys operation takes several days to practice before getting used to it. Occasionally SPACE key still confuses me!
Memory stick slot hard to access, and SIM card slot is also a pain in the thumb! You'll sweat
Keypad tactility sometimes lags when you're a fast text messager.
But over-all I'm satisfied with my new phone. The music rocks, much better with my previous N73 ME especially the headsets!
The camera section boosts its usability with its built -in flash. You can make it as a torch during power failure.
I managed to have a battery power for 2 days, not bad though I'm listening to music most of the time.
Enough said, I'm proud to have this phone!
A plastic brick that does a lot but shouldn't be seen
Oct 9, 2007Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: ok radio/music and camera functions
Cons: heavy, unmanageable navagation systems, lousy voice sending/receiving quality
Opinion:
Oh how I hate this phone! It is too heavy for a pocket, hates being shuggled about in a bag and is unwealdy to carry. I've coped with it for 9 monhts and can't wait for the other 3 months to go by before i can get rid of it! The sound quality through he built in speaker is incredibly bad and the sound quality of the mic is no better... it's ok through the supplied in-ear phones though. Don't even get me started on the navigation buttons, aaarrrgh... I feel really conned into buying it in the first place. I hope Motorola forgives my errant decision not to continue with them... i'll be back!
A HARDCORE PHONE FOR HARDCORE EXPLORATION
Sep 18, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: (1) can store files if usb's are not available (2) smooth slide (3) a manageable battery life (4) one tough phone (see review below)
Cons: (1) the 'F:8786...' whenever you try to select on certain menus (2) a bit bulky
Opinion:
sony ericsson has never failed me ever since t630, my first sonyericsson unit. what i will be sharing is a shocking yet amazing discovery that was never advertised as part of w850i feats.
i am a free-lance mountaineer and i often do trips whenever possible. i always have with me my w850i in every exploration i'm into in case i'll be expecting important calls. one time when we were assaulting a steep ascent, my phone accidentally slipped out of my pocket. it fell more than a meter and i could hear the bumping sounds as it landed on rocks and soil. i thought i'd be losing a celphone but i didn't!
if sony ericsson could release a phone that's guaranteed shock proof and waterproof (if it can go diving as well better!), i'd replace this one ;)
