Apr 20, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Easy to use, beaut screen display, surf web
Cons: Another carri on
Opinion:
This is a vote for the Palm TX! Mine works fine, it's about one and a half years old, so I'm sorie to hear about others having problem with it. Best 'impulse' buy I made at dat time! Jus found out dere's powerpoint in addition to word and excel handheld vers of cos. Wifi onto the web wifout paying any mobile phone subscription. PS. not IT-illiterate but not as tech-savvy as you guys, so if there are other opinions, I'm happi to listen to you.
Last PALM I am buying
Mar 7, 2008Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: bright screen
Cons: no USB port and dodgy connector
Opinion:
I have been a faithful PALM user since 2001, but this is the last PALM I will be buying, the screen broke after 3 months and had to be sent in for repair, the power adaptor (with a "special pin" failed after 6 and could only be charged from the dodgy proprietry connector and charger.
The web browser (Blazer) is sloooow and prone to crashing and nothing compared to the Symbian on my Nokia E90.
I do not understand why do PALM not use USB in this day and age, I have gone through 3 PALM connectors so far as they keep breaking and synchronising is a touch and go affair everyday. I can now charge my Motorola handphone and Creative Zen Stone with a single USB charger and I have no need to bring 3 or 4 chargers with me when I travel. Why oh why can people not use chargers with a universal pin ?

Hangs and poor on-off button
Aug 29, 2007Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: Good features, though not for third party software
Cons: Bad on-off button, hangs-a-lot, poor after sales support, bad connection port
Opinion:
Its high on features and telephone book is one you cannot live without.
The on-off push button is a bad feature "palm" models have inherited from the earlier models.
You need a special cable to synchronize and needs seperate charging device. Earlier Palm device came with a easy mini USB interface which I miss badly.
Hangs on third party applications - stored first "txt" file always hangs when we start the "to Go" software and asks for a reboot.
In all I decided that I had downgraded instead of upgrading, when I purchased this Tx device
Good PDA, but not spectacular.
Feb 9, 2007Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Ease of use, a bit user-friendly, handy and lovely WIFI & BLUETOOTH.
Cons: Somewhat average batt life and buggy (restarts and hangs) at times.
Opinion:
I bought mine last week and this is my first PDA ever. I am impressed with the functions and the ease of use.
What irks me is the part where the PDA restarts - screen turns off, then turns back on. I find that my personal settings are gone, for example, in my FAVORITES. At times my Palm TX hangs and the screen freezes. I never had to press the Reset button though. The Palm TX comes with a protective cover film, which I advise that you take great care in placing. You'll get a lot of airbubbles and fingerprints (which you'd like to avoid) if you're not careful.
TIPS: Lower screen brightness to save battery. Usually, my palm would last about 3-4 days w/ normal usage. If you are the type to use WIFI and BLUETOOTH often, your PALM would probably last for only a day - 5-6 hours at ... Read more
Ok but not a great advance
Jun 10, 2006Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: Easy to carry
Cons: Too many crashes
Opinion:
I have used Palms for about 5 years and this was my 4th. I get frustrated with the crashes which happen particularly with donwloaded software - but this nevcer happened with my other Palms.
I really am lookiong for a Palm with a phone BUT with oput the keyboard (waste of space). Ippaq do one and maybe i have to move there.
