The Dell x51v is a brilliant PDA - with a few tweaks it will work almost perfectly
Jul 9, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Superb display, SD and CF card support, 624MHZ processor, really good for reading text
Cons: Poor battery life when playing music or videos, all other operations don't use much power
Opinion:
This PDA will cope with all task very well if you follow these steps...
1. Make sure you're using up-to-date software. Software written for the previous 2003/2003 OS may crash or work intermittently.
2. Only buy high-speed SD and CF cards. Opening and accessing files will be slow if your memory is slow.
3. Keep today applications to a minimum. Adding today screen apps will just increase start-up time and slow down your machine.
The screen is extremely good and the storage capacity makes this the PDA to choose.
Pity about the Mobile 5 O/S, but hopefully the x51v can be upgraded to Mobile 6 when it's released.

Pros: VGA, WM5, CF plus SD slot, 256MB rom
Cons: 64MB ram, Silver outline, accessories not available in market
Opinion:
It act as my PVP, Gameboy Adv console, Mp3 player, Timetable, scheduler, picture viewer, ebook reader, notebook. There are alot more you can do with this PDA! 4GB SD card plus a SD card CF adaptor using 4GB SD card gives me total 8GB space at a mere price of S$250!!

Pros: fast speed; VGA screen; multomedia function; plenty accessories available.
Cons: no camera
Opinion:
I've used many pdas and this time i think the Dell X51V is the choice. Before i used Dopod p900 but it's too big and heavy to carry freely. Also i don't think combine mobile with PDA function is a good idea. After i use X51V i think it's a real wide
choice. It has everything i need. Fast speed (614hz) with big 3.7' VGA screen. Plenty of accessories available anywhere. Its design is also good. Even Dell is not a super strong brand in pda market but its product is improving. Another thing i think Dell can/may add camera function into x51v then it'll be fantasy.
Fast Processor with multimedia system
