After reading "Avoid at all costs (well... $50)" (another review here) a few months ago I went ahead and bought the phone anyway. After a week of use I felt foolish ignoring that review as almost all problems mentioned were there. The battery life is terrible. It can go flat after one phone call during the day. A friend had one and he has same problem. The documentation that comes with the phone is terrible. An example is it says it doesn't support profiles. However, it does. WHY HAVE a dedicated ringtone speaker yet no speakerphone? It's so lame. After 5 minutes on this phone it gets really hot and somtimes starts to echo my voice louder than the other persons'. It makes the phone unusable. The phone's construction is terrible and it creaks each time I use the keypad. PLEASE do not buy this phone, I beg of you. Take anonymous' advice and get something better. A higher SE ... Read more

I must say the phone is cheap, practical, pretty and a lightweight. But the bad stuff about it is the battery life which is really really bad. I charge the phone for half a day and of course the battery bar is full. But when I start calling, smsing or even playing the games just for a short while, battery life starts dwindling even after being charged for a full day sometimes. It's really annoying especially coming from a good phone company. The next thing is the slow interface which can be annoying at times. Things that I like about this phone are the ringtones which are really loud and clear. They sound good, too. Colors of the phone are also fine even though it's using CSTN technology. Overall a good phone but they should upgrade the battery as it's really bad.
It is a practical unit

I just got the phone to use for my other line which had 24/7 call and text. Since the service provider also worked without the frills and extras, the phone serves its purpose well for calls and SMS. The processor, though, is a bit slow but I do not text that fast in that phone anyway. The J200i is handy and very affordable. Just right for its purpose.

$50 buys u a much better phone!! (OMG) GOOD: Do you just want to make and receive phone calls and don't mind charging the phone everyday? IRDA--who knows why such a phone would contain this? It is kind of good as friends can transfer you pictures. It seems nothing better then about 10kb, however. You can assign low-quality photos for incoming calls. Using Paint Shop Pro provides ok results rather then let the phone decide. MIDI ringtones--kind of ok but hard to find. (I use polyphonic ringtone wizard to cut them). Compact, relatively good looks. Screen good for 4,096 colors. Disgusting orange light.
BAD: If you just want to make phone calls get a Nokia with a b/w screen. Low battery life. Nowhere near claimed. Very slow interface. No MP3 ringtones. Can't sync with PC, no applications out there (I don't think it's supported). Bad games. You can't disable vibration in the only OK game (Casino Wheels). This ... Read more
