Are We Missing Anything?
While we're not expecting features such as HSDPA that we see on higher-end mobiles, it's a little disappointing the KU800 doesn't come with an FM radio or infrared. The lack of Wi-Fi is something we can live with, though, since the phone's small 2-inch, 176 x 220-pixel screen isn't too conducive for Web surfing.

How Does The Phone Perform?
The KU800 comes with a higher 1,000mAH Lithium-polymer battery that gives it a rated talktime and standby time of 3.3 hours and 200 hours (about 8 days), respectively. In actual usage, the Chocolate 3G managed approximately three days before we had to reach for the portable charger.

We tested the triband (GSM 900/1,800/1,900) and found the call quality merely average. Like its predecessor, voice quality had a slight echo effect and the volume was a tad soft. We found ourselves pressing the phone closer to our ear even at maximum volume. Obviously, that didn't help much. The echo got a little worse when we turned on the speakers and, even though the other party could hear us, we had to strain to do the same. Music quality was there, but was generally let down by the soft onboard speakers.

Our images turned out soft and there was evident clipping of highlights resulting in loss of detail. During our tests, we noticed slight shutter lag. Everything else was rather responsive. The LCD, which doubles as a viewfinder in camera mode, was washed out in bright outdoor conditions and we had to squint to frame our shot. We had the option to save our images to the phone's internal storage or memory card. Video recording, on the other hand, maxed out at 1 hour using QVGA settings.
