Features
LG has equipped the P7200 with a good range of multimedia features. This includes video playback and recording in .3GP format, MP3/AAC music playback as well as dedicated audio buttons. Like most phones today, it supports Bluetooth, too, for data synchronization and pairing with compatible wireless devices like headsets and handsfree earpieces.

However, the key highlight of this LG phone is its onboard 2-megapixel camera. While quality of images still lags behind those of dedicated digital cameras, the pictures from the P7200 offers decent resolutions which should suffice for most casual photographers making 4R prints. The onboard camera also comes with good panning response, autofocus and a limited range of camera filter effects. A mini flashlight located above the lens offers a limited range of illumination for close objects when shooting in dimly lit conditions. A small chrome reflective piece allows for self-portrait shots.

In addition to the onboard 64MB of storage, the P7200 supports memory expansion in the form of a TransFlash or microSD card, possibly one of the smallest flash memory media in the market today. However, while microSD is one of the most future-proof formats due to its size, it is currently available in small capacities of up to 256MB. Those hoping to add more memory will have to wait a little longer for the larger-capacity cards to be released.

The phone also features a Mass Storage capability which transforms the phone infor a portable storage device like a thumbdrive when connected to the PC. The addition of an FM tuner would have been ideal on the LG, but this has been sadly left out.

Performance And Battery Life
Where phone performance is concerned, the P7200 did not disappoint with good reception and call quality. However, due to its soft earpiece volume, making calls in noisy areas such as busy subway stations proved to be quite a challenge at times. That said, the phone's ringtone is highly audible under most usage situations.

The P7200 lasted only a day under normal usage conditions which included the usual calls and SMS texting as well as occasional games, MP3 and picture-taking. This is not surprising considering the small 800mAh battery capacity. It seems the LCD screen and camera are the major battery drainers. Limiting the use of both should give slightly more talktime. It is also advisable to charge the handset everyday or carry a spare battery if you are a heavy mobile user.

The phone is within the safe Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limit of 0.366 W/kg.
