For its stylish design, this seems to be an innovation dedicated to the young (or young at heart) and trendy. It is modern technology and good looks in one package. But is the Nokia 3210 really such a great deal?
Slim And Stylish Design
Compared to its later siblings, the Nokia 3210 is not all that tiny for pockets. But its smooth contours fit into the palm pretty comfortably, and this is good for big hands like mine! With easily exchangeable metallic color covers and well-designed features that allow one-hand operation--no flip covers to get in the way--the 3210 is definitely pleasing to the eye and easy on the hands. Another nice touch is the internal antenna. Gone are the days when handphone antennae would poke out of slim pockets, sometimes even breaking off!
Great Animations
A picture can tell more than words, and very often, leave a greater impression. The menu items and many other functions in the 3210 are accompanied by gleeful animated illustrations. If you are the visually oriented type, you will like the innovative Picture Messaging feature. But note that this only allows you to send graphical greeting messages to another 3210 user.
Excellent Battery Performance
The 3210 uses True 3-Volt Technology for its battery. Simply put, this enhances battery performance to let you chat continuously for up to 4.5 hours using the internal battery.
Pre-Paid Meter
Here's another nice addition to the features menu if you're one of those who use prepaid SIM cards. The 3210 provides a screen indicator that will display the remaining balance on the prepaid SIM card, letting you manage your call expenses at a glance.
(Editor's note: The above function is operator-dependant.)
Reception
Generally, there was clear reception in most areas including the underpass and underground train stations, but the 3210 failed in elevators.
Affordability vs. Durability
Overall, the 3210 is almost flawless: well-designed features, detailed functions and, for all that, quite cheap. However, some users did caution this reviewer about the 3210's durability. But if you're only thinking of using the handphone for as long as the warranty lasts, or until the next new model catches your eye (or ear), then go ahead. After all, it's only S$248.
