The bad: Large size not for everyone; HTC Task Manager app not included; no front camera for video calls; HTC Sense can't hide every single WM page; poor battery life.
The bottom line: This power-packed smartphone does almost everything well--if you don't mind the default WM interface creeping up on you occasionally.

The Best WinMo phone so far!
Dec 3, 2009Rating: 10 out of 10 (Perfect)
Pros: Large screen, fast processor, large memory, capacitive, etc...
Cons: Not much.
Opinion:
Well done, HTC. I have the HTC Touch HD and Samsung Omnia II. I like the Touch HD but this HD2 is the ultimate.
good direction
Nov 29, 2009Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Power & Screen
Cons: Manila already out-dated and still not stable
Opinion:
I played with it for a day here in HTC flagship shop.
I compared it with the same UI running on my HD 1.
Well, yest, it is faster. Especially Album Art roll thru in landscape mode.
Worth an upgrade from a tweaked HD 1 to this? No.
Simply cause the build quality seems to be lesser and lesser vs the last 5- 7 high Quality phones HTC has build.
If you would consider either a HD2 or a 3GS iPhone, I can only recco the latter (which I will purchase to upgrade from my other phone, the 3G)
Bottom line, HTS is making progress. This is aside the HERO the nicest equiped phone I have seen, but the WOW factor is soon gone.
Do not forget that this screensize requires a lot of developer re-coding to look perect on this Big Bertha ;-)
Superb piece of innovation
Nov 28, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: 1GHz Snapdragon processor, HTC Sense UI, Huge 4.3" screen, Capacitive multi-touch, slim
Cons: Buggy WinMo 6.5, finger touchscreen (not fingernails)
Opinion:
This is an amazing and beautiful piece of hardware. The large 4.3" screen is amazingly gorgeous. Considering the screen size is so big, the phone is amazingly slim. No bulge in your pocket, guys!
The best thing is that with the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, everything seems a breeze to browse and multi-task without lag. I ran over 15 apps at the same time with no lag. Amazing.
HTC Sense UI is awesome. It is so finger friendly and user-friendly, too. They have completely masked WinMo 6.5 on their UI that I can't seem to get to it anymore.
Considering I've been with WinMo for years, getting used to the capacitive touch screen takes awhile. I am used to typing with my fingernails, you see.
Other than pinching and zooming on pictures and browsers, I don't see any major use for the multi-touch. But kudos to HTC for having this feature on the first WinMo device.
