The good: Excellent build quality; good keypad; improved camera; very responsive; good battery life; 3.5mm audio port.

The bad: Optical navi-pad can be annoying at times; S60 platform feels dated in light of the competition.

The bottom line: Business users looking for a competent, no-nonsense smartphone will like the E72 for its breadth of features and stylish design.

Great value for money

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Push e-mail; included apps, intuitive menu&controls, music quality, battery life
Cons: OptiNavi pad; issues that should be fixed with a Firmware update
Opinion:
I wanted a BB Javelin but three things swayed me onto the Nokia E72 instead.
First, the add-on for push e-mail for this phone (via Nokia messaging) is much cheaper than having a Blackberry data add-on (299Php vs 800Php).
Second, I'd be saving quite a bit of cash instead of going for a Javelin. And no, a Curve 8520 doesn't cut it for my needs. Specs wise E72 > 8520
Third, my country doesn't have a BB service center. An important consideration especially for trackball models in the SouthEast Asian humidity and dustiness.

I had reservations about this phone though, primarily the Symbian OS. However, after spending some time with the phone its not as bad as I initially thought it would be(sorry but my last Nokia phone was the 9210).

The E72 has a lot of things going for it.
It's quite stylish, something that fits in a boardroom or a restaurant that has a sommelier. It's ... Read more

if the E71 was a F3 race car, the E72 would be in the F1 genre

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Fast processor, light weight, nice screen
Cons: keeps switching onto the internet, found myself logged onto the internet for 53 minutes!
Opinion:
The E72 is really a fantastic phone, with speedy downloads and processing of data. The navi key is very sensitive and at times it is hard to focus onto a particular object which may create problem while surfing the net. Overall, a "no-frills" phone that could have been perfect with a bigger screen.

E71 has been downgraded to E72

Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Battery Life, Email integration, better phone memory
Cons: Low on RAM, Slooooow camera and slow phone
Opinion:
Here is my take. I have had the E72 for a month now and I am frustrated like hell.
Issues:-
1.Camera takes 4-5 seconds to open and after you click a picture, the 'processing' message remains for as much as 6 seconds on the screen. On my E71 it took less than a second.
2.While checking with Phonetinfo, and Phoneinfo, the processor speed is shown as 192 Mhz, though some claim that a newer version of Phonetinfo will show 600 Mhz.
3. The Email software from NOKIA is regressive. The IMAP folders are not as easy to reach as in E71 and they do not display the number of unread messages in brackets, meaning you have to open all folders to be able to know if there are any unread messages.
4. There is a lot of animation / transition time in the email program. I would ask NOKIA to do away with the transitions and make it snappy. I ... Read more
