The bad: Keyboard is cramped; battery life drains quickly; sluggish at times; lacks expansion slot, video-recording capabilities, onscreen keyboard, and Flash support; Pre App Catalog is still in beta with a limited number of titles.
The bottom line: Despite some missing features and performance issues that make it less than ideal for on-the-go professionals, the Palm Pre offers gadget lovers and consumers well-integrated features and unparalled multitasking capabilities. The hardware could be better, but more importantly, Palm has developed a solid OS that not only rivals the competition but also sets a new standard in the way smartphones handle tasks and manage information.

A new Palm OS @ last
Mar 26, 2009Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Has everything bar the kitchen sink
Cons: A kingdom for the old QWERTY
Opinion:
Based on the previews and Palm's Official Presentation of the Palm Pre their is no doubt that the Palm Pre will set a very good platform for future Palm Devices and indeed for other devices purely in terms of simple usability.
Being a Treo 600 & 680 user I have to say that Palm surely wins all the points when it comes to organizing your life in a simple format. For example being able to color code your appointment types and view it @ a glance is still a simple but powerful organizational tool not available in much higher end phones.
But as expected they have stuck to their 'new' QWERTY keyboard layout which is understandable due to the need for Modern Ergonomics but is sad in that the 'old' QWERTY layout was undoubtedly more usable.
Obviously Palm has never concentrated too much on Camera's so I don't blame them for putting an average unit in.
