The bad: No 3G connectivity; poor YouTube quality; troublesome USB connection; user interface can be confusing; no headphone adapter.
The bottom line: The Samsung Star does a good job of scaling down touchscreen tech to fit in a pocket-sized, bargain-basement phone. A bright, responsive touchscreen ensures that basics like dialling and texting pose no problems, and the 3.2-megapixel camera is decent too. But, without 3G, the Star doesn't so much surf as paddle the Web.

Touch Screen phone for every one
Jul 10, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Great screen, responsive Touchwiz, good audio quality, easy to use music player
Cons: mediocre camera, no 3G
Opinion:
A worthy competitor of LG Cookie KP500. Between the two Samsung Star S5233 stands out because of its glossy design and an eye catcher. It looks expensive even if it cost lower than it seems.
Touchwiz UI is very responsive and lagging time is very minimal. Many of the reviews I read said the Star has a poor battery life. I think Samsung made some revisions on the phone because they ditched the stylus and battery performance improved.
The absence of 3G is forgivable since people in the Philippines rarely use 3G on their phones. All I need is an affordable touchscreen phone with a good music player. Samsung S5233 Star is perfect for me.
