CNET Asia Review
Good
The good: Wireless options include HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth stereo and A-GPS; 3.5mm audio jack; useful preinstalled apps; 32GB of onboard memory with microSD expansion card slot. 6.7
out of 10View score
The bad: Inconsistent user interface; keyboard with flush keys hard to type on; dated S60 software; limited apps on Ovi Store.
The bottom line: There's no doubt that the N97 is Nokia's top-of-the-line S60 smartphone. But a combination of factors, from dated software to inconsistencies in the interface, make it difficult for us to recommend the device. More so when there are very compelling alternatives from competing camps the likes of Apple and HTC.

Jun 23, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Best resistive touchscreen phone,5mp camera,FM transmitter,solid desktop web browsing,32gb memory,Widgets
Cons: Need some touch up to UI,medicore speakers
Opinion:
I have been using the nokia N97 from Past 2 weeks.Nice phone. Before reviewing i wanna say everbody don't try to compare nokia N97 with Apple Iphone. Both are from different league.Iphone is capacitive and N97 is resistive.Dont try to compare. If Nokia makes a capacitive touch screen in future then go ahead start comparing both.
Nokia N97 best resistive touch screen phone out in the market.Best multimedia phone.good resolution screen.Nice transitions between the windows.Flash support.Widgets working like charm.Touch screen response works great.Touch response working far better than nokia 5800.Web browsing is solid.Trust me You can browse the websites like a desktop.Camera was good as N95.
Only the UI s60v5 need some touch up.I mean it needs some improvisation so that it looks polished.Music player is basic. It needs some visualizations and options.
N97 also don't have native S60V5 games.Great thing is it supports N-GAGE.The nokia N-gage game developers working on games native to N97.Games expected by the fall 2009.

Great phone despite its flaws !
Jun 21, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: User-friendly interface, big screen, easy to use keyboard, good battery life,
Cons: laggy at times, small phone memory space
Opinion:
So far I have used it for 2 weeks, I am more than satisfied with this phone. Every phone has their own pros and cons, of course there are phones that have better specifications than this, but I am pleased with it as it meeds all my needs and so far, the phone didn't hang on me (touchwood). I had a few minor problems with the phone, but manage to solved it after playing around with it. Hopefully the future firmware will solved all the teething issues, which every phone has.
I don't agree with some of the opinions below, I say go try the phone yourself and if the specs are good enough for you, I highly recommend you to get it.
Good effort but not good enough
Jun 19, 2009Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: 5MP camera, fairly user friendly software. The neat fold up screen.
Cons: The touch screen isn't as sensative as the iPhone's. The space bar is in a very awkward position and the stylus is too bulky and gets in the way if you attach as suggested in the user manual.
Opinion:
Upgraded from a Nokia E71 and now regret it. It doesn't feel that sturdy and I know the stylus is going to be lost shortly. There is a case included in the box but the fit is too tight and is a nuisance to use - which means the phone will be stuffed in the pocket and will end up scratched.
