CNET Asia Review
Very good
The good: Stylish design; full suite of connectivity features. View score
The bad: Some users may find the keyboard a bit too wide; fingerprint magnet; 3G video calls not supported; average camera.
The bottom line: The S740 may have improved a lot from the previous S730 in terms of design, but the glut of QWERTY smart phones in the market--some slim, others sexy--water down the S740's appeal.

Good and bad
Sep 29, 2008Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: keyboard, sleek design
Cons: really long looking, too angular
Opinion:
The phone seems great, but it seems really elongated. If HTC made it more compact and rounder and adding a bigger screen while keeping this great keyboard and keypad, it could be perfect.
Beautiful

Pros: full QWERTY, feature packed.
Cons: WM6
Opinion:
Isn't this phone a beauty ? I would feel so sleek in your hands ! but i wonder how it feels in your pocket.... haha...
but it looks amazing. out of the ordinary and yes, it looks more like a remote control. i'm sure we can put install a software that will turn it into one very expensive sleek remote :)
HTC keyboard improvement
Sep 6, 2008Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Sliding keyboard?
Cons: lagging speed for such featured packed pda
Opinion:
There is always one problem with a Featured pack phone, just look at the Diamond, The once perceived phone which looks and feel good in your hands, really sleek and gorgeous, but look at the inner beauty, its nothing but garbage.,. the speed of the phone is lagging to none, I really felt sorry for people who bought the diamond, well maybe not really sorry but for people who had high demand on the diamond and use lots of application like me, hope this S740 would prove even better
