CNET Asia Review
Good
The good: Dedicated camera controls; equipped with both Xenon and LED flash lights; Bluetooth stereo; Wi-Fi; Cyber-shot interface. View score
The bad: Stiff buttons; video recording limited to QVGA resolution; no front-facing camera for video calls; Wayfinder navigation software not that intuitive.
The bottom line: The C905 Cyber-shot is a competent camera-phone that won't let you down if you forget your digicam, but it's missing some important features.

Not quite good one
Aug 29, 2009Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: Stylish look
Cons: Not so good camera
Opinion:
I wanted to upgrad my Nokia 73 ME, and did lot of RnD for 2 weeks, hoping to get a good mobile phone (i dont have a point and shoot camera) so thought of buying one good camera phone and just was fascinated because of Sony brand name, and 8.0 Mega pixel cam, (though I read the review in cnet, thought of going against it) thinking that people will have different opinion, but it proved to be 100% correct.
Key learnings.
1. Mobile phones (no matter how many mp) cant/wont be a replacement for point and shoot cameras.
2. Sony Ericsson is not good for making camera phones (to be honest, my Nokia N73 camera (3.0 MP) is far better than this one).
3. Sony is good for walkman phones, and not CAMERA PHONES.
Pros:
1. Very stylish look, I really like the look of it.
Cons:
1. Not so good camera.
2. Battery performance is very ... Read more

Beware of the catch
Jul 11, 2009Rating: 2 out of 10 (Terrible)
Pros: Ok phone
Cons: Accessories and Sony Ericsson stunts
Opinion:
The phone is just ok but I m on my fourth charger. I don't know which genius at Sony Ericsson came up with the idea of having the connector with two really tiny pins on the charger. There are two problems with this, first the charger pins are easily damaged, second the connection to the phone is always loose so even when you think your phone is charging it actually is not and at the most critical moment you discover that, which is a huge bummer, it has happened to me many times. Also if there is some dust on the connector portion of the phone itself you have to clean it with a scraper in order for the phone to connect
Sony people are very smart. They know with this kind of stupid device they can make more money on charger sales.
Also they have propriety memory cards so that they can make you pay for ... Read more

should have been the perfect fon
May 2, 2009Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: 8.1mp, wi-fi
Cons: its like the first edition of mobile phone that introduces video call features
Opinion:
bought this phone last 2weeks. everything's perfect, 8.1mp, wi-fi and all. I'd give 10/10, but due to some cons and things that could be improve, i give it 8/10.
first of all, the upper buttons positioned too near to the lower edge of the slider, tends to hit my thumb at the edge. need to improve on that, small thing, minus 0.25, giving it 9.75/10.
competitors come out with touch phone, and c905 is quite latest, so it will be great if they added the touch specs on it. but i considered it as small thing too, minus another 0.15.
like any other 3G phone, one of the things u're looking forward to, is to video call your friends. but sony ericsson, somehow acting like new mobile company, put only 1 camera at the back. yes, you can still video call your friends by flipping front and back of the camera, or its either you can see them and they ...
