The bad: Panel interface can be slow; camera interface and focusing slow; average battery life; optical joystick not particularly useful.
The bottom line: Sony Ericsson's first attempt at a Windows Mobile phone is a good one which will satisfy productivity and entertainment needs.

A good start!
Sep 4, 2009Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Xperia panels, Full QWERTY slider keypad, Nice design, WiFi, GPS, Preloaded Google maps,
Cons: Poor signal reception, Faulty Winmo OS, Weak body (Read the review), Does not support SE's Bluetooth watch officially,
Opinion:
I am a big and loyal fan of SE phones. My first phone was SE's first, T68i, after that I bought a K800i the first SE Cybershot phone and X1 is my third phone which I have it for about 7 months. My first problem with my X1 was the reception signal which is improved after updating to last month new ROM version: R3AA010 but is not as good as my previous K800i. As another problem I should mention touch sensitivity of the screen which is not as I expected although this problem is improved in new ROM too. The gap between the screen and the body make you to clean dust everyday which is really hard without tiny brush. Windows mobile OS is really faulty in comparison with Symbian or SE Java OS I have to restart my phones for about 5-6 times in a month because of it but I did restart my previous K800i 2 times in ... Pros: Camera is decent
Cons: Too many to list. See below
Opinion:
My worse experience with a handphone ever. Here are the reasons:
1. Phone - hangs often, at least twice a day but ok after switching it off and then on again.
2. SMS - allows only one line of text visible and sometimes even that line may become compressed and I can't see what I am typing at all! Difficult to cut and paste, forward, call phone numbers in message, have to delete everything twice - once in inbox and again in deleted items.
3. Panels - looks nice but in reality takes time to take effect as I have to wait for it to load. Always starts off with New York time and then slowly changes to local time. Other smartphones are instantaneous when switching functions.
4. COntacts are confusing. hard to enter data. If you don't key in your search requirements properly you willl not find it. I have missed a couple of important calls because of this ... Read more
