CNET Asia Review
Excellent
The good: Adds GPS capabilities to the already impressive and sleek messaging smart phone; 2-megapixel camera; Bluetooth; good call quality. 8.3
out of 10View score
The bad: Doesn't offer Wi-Fi or 3G support; Web browser isn't the sleekest; the camera lacks video-recording capabilities; you only get the proprietary BlackBerry Messenger IM client.
The bottom line: Still offering an attractive design and excellent messaging capabilities, the addition of GPS makes the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 an even more attractive choice for road warriors.

Great Email and Messanging Device
Oct 9, 2008Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Very User Friendly GUI, Good Keypad, Nice Screen, Sleek Design, Good GPS and Navigation
Cons: Camera and Internet Browser could be better, No Wifi, No 3G
Opinion:
Just bought the 8310 Crimson Red two weeks ago. And I love this mobile phone.
With many (Indonesian) operators providing Blackberry for individuals (BIS), many people have been attracted to use the BB service and handset.
The most updated OS version (v.4.5.0.55.81) allows the recording video capability, HTML viewing for emails, and integrated Docs To Go (Word and Power Point). You will also get Excel (sheet to go) once registered to Dataviz.
Loved the Integrated GPS and Maps. In my experience it locks faster and more stable than my Nokia N95 8Gb built-in GPS. THe NOkia has better/nice looking map though.
BB could certainly have better Internet Browser than what they're offering here but you can always install Opera Mini for better looking and functional browser.
A fair performer in domain of smartphones
Aug 8, 2008Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: good email capablities;nice display;good keyboard which can be used by someone with thick fingers
Cons: no wi-fi;poor camera results'no video recording!!!!!!!
Opinion:
If you are looking for all-in-one smart phone ,this is not the one. It has no wi-fi (so all internet activity gets billed), and the browser is not that too quick either.
the camera is really pathetic (gives a yellowish tinge to all captured images). to top it up, it does not have video recording.
The speakers are fair only.
Has got good QWERTY key board, and the keys are widely spaced ( I have fairly big fingers and that was never an impediment in typing emails off with mach speed).
User-friendly

Pros: Ease of use, light-weight
Cons: Camera quality is poor
Opinion:
So easy to use, I didn't even need to read the user manual. The BlackBerry Messenger is a cool function. Two of my friends ended up buying the 8310 after they saw how user-friendly it was.
