CNET Asia Review

out of 10View score
The bad: Proprietary connector port on the left edge; M2 card slot behind battery cover; mediocre camera features.
The bottom line: Design is clearly the focus on the W890i and it's where this Walkman truly shines. At the same time, we can't deny that the W890i is also a solid handset. If you can live with its mediocre camera, this Walkman phone is a keeper.

overall, a good phone still. worth to own it .
Apr 30, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: music, cam, slim, light,
Cons: KEYPAD drives me crazy !!
Opinion:
own it few days already, but cos of some quality problem, going to change a set tomorrow.
there's one thing i MUST say. the keypad is really really TOO small. even too small for girls already because my girl friends did comment about it, and said it's really too small to type. and i'm a 180cm tall guy, then you can imagine what is actually happening here. gosh ..
however, it's really such a good phone still, and definitely worth to own one. very impressed about the sound quality. and even the cam is without AF, but still quite clear compare with the rest of the phones which are without AF as well.
the system is abit slow that same as the other SE as well.
and as usual, the screen actually can be bigger ..
Nice design & Slim Form Factor
Apr 6, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Good Music Qaulity + Good Battery Life
Cons: Screen size can be bigger.
Opinion:
The W890i is almost a perfect music phone. However, if the screen size can be more generous since the price of W890i is cammanding a premium over other competitors.
I am dropping the score for this phone
Mar 22, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Refer to my previous post
Cons: Calendar Sound is too soft. Can't hear the reminder tone, effectively making the calendar useless
Opinion:
I just realise that the calendar function doesn't allow you to change the tone. The default tone is a 1 second *blip*, which unless you are looking at the phone, you won't notice it.
The main functions I require of a phone are:
1) Calls/SMS/MMS
2) Alarm
3) Calendar (with Reminder)
Thus, I decided to drop my review of this phone to 7. Because it didn't fulfill my HP requirement needs. Hopefully, SE will have an upgrade for this. But I doubt so, since the past few phones already had this problem (e.g. W910 or the previous K series phone).
And as a side note, I feel Nokia's Phone Suite is much much better after using this phone for a few days. SE Phone Suite is too amateurish
