The bad: Square screen may not work well with third-party programs; optical joystick not as fast as regular directional pad; bundled GPS app not optimized.
The bottom line: Though not perfect, the i780 is an excellent choice for those who want the most features in a sub-S$1,000 PDA-phone.

Great PDA-Phone
Apr 27, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: wi-fi, bluetooth, 3g, etc... everything thrown in the sink, oh yeah did i forgot to mention the EXTRA BATTERY?
Cons: proprietary port, lack of headphone jack
Opinion:
my 4th day of having this awesome phone and i can tell you it rocks!!!
mine came preinstalled with the latest Windows Mobile 6.1.
the set lasts for like 2 days before charging it, with a lot of messages involved...
tried with wi-fi, device lasted for a day and a half coz' wi-fi drains the phone's battery faster.
what i really hate is the proprietary port for this one... they should've used like a mini-usb for connecting it to the PC.
they should've also included a headset with a headphone jack too... but the included headset's audio quality is great... but i really like using my headphones.
but i can say this is a great product!!!
P.S. new SGH-i780 units are shipped with the new official WM6.1 update.

Pros: Fast download speed
Cons: cannot use wifi for window live. Can't see a thing on screen when under the sun
Opinion:
This phone is equip with wifi, but you cannot operate windows Live with wifi. Windows live will only operate using your GPRS. Yes my friends, meaning you have to pay. Most of the time I'm out of wifi range. I don't mind paying for it in that situation.
This phone you can only surf the net with explorer in wifi. I rely mostly on hotmails. If you surf to home.mobile.msn.com using wifi; you can get to that page but cannot open ur hotmail.Tell me can you be satisfied surf the web on small screen.
My previous pda, dopod 838pro(upgrade to windows mobile 6) let me operate Windows Live using wifi. Yes i get every chance to log on for free wifi. I save alot. This is a conspiracy between manufacture and telco. They design the software so that you have to dial up your GPRS for mails. what the point of wifi on mobile phone.
