First Take
GPS navigation is not one of those things most users consider to be crucial in a PDA-phone, at least not in the same way as features like W-Fi and Bluetooth are. But even though most consider it to be a bonus rather than a requirement, it is surprisingly found in quite a few entry-level devices even when high-end ones give it a miss. Examples will be devices from Mitac and E-Ten, companies which tend to put a GPS chip into every handset they sell, even the 2.5G ones. Another of these manufacturers is Asus, and a good example is its upcoming P527 handheld. ...

Small but feature packed
Sep 14, 2008Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: All in one wireless connections ( FM radio
Cons: Very slow processor, small internal memory, the keypads are hard to use. FM radio has the antenna fitted on the handsfree. Oversized.
Opinion:
I was annoyed by the poor service given by the technical support with "template" based reply. I found out that it is truely ridiculous. They should reply the email with proper solutions other than just asking the customer to do "hard rest" and "remove 3rd party software". Another thing that bothers me is the WM6.1 which is very confusing. I don't think my P527 model has been given the update so far. Surprisingly there are Taiwan, Hongkong, India, Thai and North American versions already available.
VFM. Slim design.

Pros: slim design, large screen, gps & above average camera.
Cons: outdated processor, very sluggish, bad lcarry case, too low internal memory.
Opinion:
Asus could have done much better with this phone. with all the applications and connectivity the processor is so slow that at the times the phone or applications tends to freeze or some times takes eons to start. GPS is quick to connect, and the navigation software is also on the good side. camera is above average albeit without flash. Pictures come out decently in good light conditions. Wi-Fi takes some time to get connected, though the browsing speed is pretty good. GPRS had to be set up manually.touch screen is very responsive.stylus is a laugh.could have had good carry case.firmware has lots of bugs. hopefully should be set right in their new firmware. overall a quality phone for the normal user not a power user.
Great Value for Money
May 21, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Big basket of features
Cons: Sloggish processor- 200MHz
Opinion:
Thius WM6 is packed with great features, GPS is the biggest usp, in India It comes with all India map with detail maps of 21 cities and that too at no extra cost, while the market price of this hand set is about $400. Many times while running Navigation apps you run out of memory and are forced to close many applications. Negatie thing about this handset is the OMAP 850 - 200 MHz processor which seems to slow for the features thius handset supports.
