First Take
The thing about QWERTY handhelds is they can be anal to use sometimes especially when the keys are not comfortably spaced apart or they don't provide tactile feedback for prolonged typing. Fortunately, Asus did that right for its first Windows Mobile 6 smart phone--the M530w. ...

unable to perform in the class projected
Dec 16, 2008Rating: 3 out of 10 (Poor)
Pros: slow, slugish and primitive
Cons: waste of money
Opinion:
the phone is unable to perform up to expations especially to ones used to nokia E class of HTC mobiles. It has slow connectivity when connected to PC is twice as slow as Nokia E51. Considering to features it is more like a big stone than a gadget. I personally am not satisfied with the performance.
good for work and biz
Aug 28, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Light weight, slim , quite stable, relatively easy to use
Cons: can't read / write Chinese, not so user friendly, no google maps/GPS
Opinion:
I gave up my Nokia E71 for this and no regrets. Bought @ a good deal for SGD 399 at AAA in Sim Lim. Easy to use but can't read / write mandarin. Relatively stable for a WM device but when I tried installing CE Star on to it, the system constantly hangs/freezes and slowed down. I think this is much better than Nokia E71 (which sucks full time). MOre stable than Samsung Omnia. Keys are easy to press and spaced.
Would be good if it has google maps/GPS and more bundled software
Good for a first time Smartphone user
May 28, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: connectivity, keypad, slim profile,
Cons: battery life, menus
Opinion:
I've had this phone for 4+ months now and so far, my only beef with the phone is the fact that the USB port is now loose. This causes the charging process to be cut off inadvertently. I end up thinking I charged the phone for several hours, only to find out it was never charged. This even after I make sure I get the charging icon on the battery indicator. Also, I recently found an error message whenever I try to go to the Media Player library and it is not allowing me to create a playlist and manipulate my media files. I hope a firmware upgrade will solve this. Overall, I'd say it's a good phone for somebody who is getting a smartphone for the first time. But if you're somebody who's had a lot of experience with other smartphones, then you'll know better.
