CNET Asia Review
Excellent
The good: Slick and slim design; funky features including Walkman music player and pedometer; solid build. View score
The bad: Buttons can be difficult to press; not 3G; no camera flash.
The bottom line: Sony Ericsson's W580i is a sexy, thin slider that you'll want to carry in your pocket for its MP3 music player, radio or just to use the built-in pedometer.

Horrible piece of shit
Dec 22, 2009Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: Good sound quality
Cons: Poor build, bad camera, poor display, Software crashes frequently
Opinion:
I bought this crap about 6 months ago and already had to take it to the service station twice. The display got zonked out and a part had to be replaced. The software crashes frequently and fails to read the memory card. Once the phone froze and had to take the battery out to turn it off. The camera is poor and the night vision is worthless. The only good thing is the sound quality for the music. But at this price, this is a really poor product.
Worst build quality, extremely poor display hardware!

Pros: Looks, Multimedia options, Slider
Cons: Worst build quality, poor hardware, heavy maitanance
Opinion:
I got this phone about 3 months ago for a price of about 10K in Hyderabad (India).
The phone's functionality is good as per its specifications. Voice quality is okay, sound and the Walkman are good. Talktime is about 4-5 hours and the average backup with 10-15 calls a day and normal multimedia usage is not more than 24 hours.
The worst part is its build quality, the screen display is screwed up in less than 2 months, i took it to the authorized service center and was surprised to see the same model handset with same problem for one in every 2 complaints they had that day.
I spoke to the center manager and he confirmed the fact that this model (W580i) is the faultiest model that SE had produced in the last 2 years. He'd confirmed a fact that 90% of the handsets of this model which come for warranty are due to the display ... Read more
