The bad: Large and bulky; very heavy; no GPS application or maps bundled; extremely expensive; keyboard not backlit.
The bottom line: Feature-packed and powerful, the U1000 still isn't for everyone because of its sheer size and high price.

Nov 16, 2009Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Big screen, lots of apps, can connect to usb peripherals (flash, keyboard)
Cons: SLOW processors, need to reboot often, phone mediocre, middling batt life
Opinion:
Bulky as hell and embarassing to use as a phone for vox calls. Vox calls are choppy and frequently incoherent, both for myself and the person on the other end. Despite 624mhz processor speed, it kinda crawls on WM6. Hangs about once or twice a day, requiring soft reboot (which sucks up battery life). Speaking of battery life, stay near an outlet if you intend to use it for watching movies or playing games.
In spite of all the above, I love this thing. As a writer, the DOPOD u1000 pretty much satisfies my needs. For all its bulk, it's still MUCH smaller than a netbook. And despite the sluggish performance, it's still beats Vista or XP.
Truly Sensational
