The good: Unique design; light compact; 1GB onboard memory; 3.5mm earphone jack; SD card slot; useful scroll wheel; sharp and bright screen; Bluetooth v2 and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi.

The bad: Awkwardly placed stylus; feels plasticky; no FM radio; lacks onboard camera; unwieldy.

The bottom line: From its large onboard memory and SD card slot to the implementation of a 3.5mm audio jack and scroll wheel, the iPaq rx4540 combines a well-thought-out feature set with compact design to appeal to users who plan to use their handhelds for mobile entertainment.
