Works Well
Aug 18, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Great convergence device
Cons: No wifi
Opinion:
I bought this item on the "gray market" in Hong Kong for HK$2700, to use as a GPS device in Canada, France and HK. I also use it as a phone and "ipod".
Overall, I've been very happy with it. It worked perfectly in the car as well as on foot (I use IGo GPS software), and saved us a few times when hopelessly lost in Paris.
I found the battery life acceptable. The phone worked well, both receiving and making calls. It worked perfectly in Canada as well as in Hong Kong.
The sound amplification could be improved. It needs to be louder, particularly on busy city streets.
Overall, the Mio a700 is exactly what I wanted - a good convergence device that does everything I want in a small package.
No regrets.
