CNET Asia Review
Very good
The good: Sturdy and water-resistant; compact design; Bluetooth 2.0 and USB connectivity for fast data transfers. View score
The bad: Small screen for a smartphone; rubberized keypad not separated; 2-megapixel camera produces shoddy results.
The bottom line: The 5500's training features improve on its predecessors, but are at best a novelty for those starting out, rather than fitness fanatics. As a sturdy phone, however, the 5500 shines.

Almost great, part 2
May 25, 2007Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: still less than a year of usage : None now !
Cons: the rubber keypad tore AGAIN !
Opinion:
I hope Nokia realise that whatever adhesive their using for this model, doesn't suit the weather in hot and humid Singapore.
I'm the 2nd person who has this problem of the number keypad coming off FOR a 2ND TIME AFTER SERVICING. My other colleague promptly sold it off and changed to another brand.
It's (Almost) great.
Jan 5, 2007Rating: 3 out of 10 (Poor)
Pros: Most rugged phone availabe (outside of Japan) ...
Cons: ... if only the rubber keypad stays on with better glue !
Opinion:
Everything you read about in this review is true.
Just that the rubber keypad WILL come off like 2 months into normal use.
For certain.
How I know this ? My colleague (he replaced his twice in 2 months)and I have (and had) this phone and both ours came off (we're like filmmakers, not mine workers or deep sea divers b.t.w.) and we meet more people at Nokia's service centre with the exact same problem ...
IF ONLY they did the rubber keypad right ... this would've been the perfect phone for all active lifestyles...
Just like anything else, it has good points and bad points, but more good ones
Dec 12, 2006Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: compact, very clear screen, symbian os, dedicated music button, good for travel
Cons: lowest tier of buttons a bit small, battery life
Opinion:
I have this phone so I'm not just blabbering about something I've never seen or used. It's good!
Just like all Symbian OS phones, it's not so "dumb" that you'll get bored with it in a day or two. Music quality is good. Battery life could be better, but, I just carry around a spare.
It shares the same wimpy battery as the N80, don't know why Nokia doesn't just make some giant honkin' batteries, I guess their worried that some people may think it will make the phone big...I can't believe someone said this is a big phone...try my N91 if you want a big phone!
It has the same music player as the 3250 "music phone", very intuitive and well thought out (of course not as good as an N91)
This is an innovative device with touch sensetive features...go to the Nokia website or wait for the ... Read more
