The bad: LCD screen leaves temporary lines of discoloration when depressed; no memory expansion slot; lacks FM radio; one port for headset, charger and USB cable.
The bottom line: The Samsung SGH-Z540 impresses with its slim form factor, amazingly crisp display and a decent range of multimedia features, though the lack of expansion for a 3G phone may put off some users.

Disappointed with this phone. Apart from the nice form factor and 3G function, there are many cons
Jan 12, 2007Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: nice form factor and 3G function
Cons: Many
Opinion:
1. Phone book - order of contacts always get jumbled up each time you switch off the phone, or each time you add a new contact or each time you edit an existing contact
2. Phone book - you can't change the order of the phone numbers (mobile, home, etc.) on your Outlook and then have the order synchronized onto your phone. It will always retain the order of home, office, then mobile. Very frustrating!
3. Caller ID - if you have saved several numbers to each contact, the caller ID does not show you which number that contact is calling you from (e.g. mobile or home)
4. Hangs frequently!!
5. No timer or stopwatch - this is a very basic function!!
6. SMS - can't save SMS into a separate folder. The only place to save it is in the INBOX!! Which means you can't do a "delete all" as long as there is ... Read more
Disappointed with this phone. (cont)
Jan 12, 2007Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: nice form factor and 3G function
Cons: Many
Opinion:
11. Speakerphone - very lousy. Your voice won't be clear to your caller. Don't even try to use it for phone conference calls or to substitute using a earpiece when you're driving (I used to be able to use my SE K750i's speakerphone so well when I'm driving that it's as though I'm using the earpiece!)
11. Earpiece - volume is extremely low. Don't bother to use it if you're driving a car that is not a Lexus! Maybe my hearing is bad, but you get the drift...
12. Ringtone - ok, this is a very very age-old complaint. Too soft!!!
13. Battery life - Ditto to 12. Age-old complaint. It sucks. Charge every day if you use your phone to talk for at least 1 hour each day
14. It frustrates me so much that I'm writing such a long review and that frustrates me even more to think I've spent much effort & time ... Read more
