CNET Asia Review
Very good
The good: 4GB onboard memory; good music quality; intuitive interface; large, crisp display; relatively good battery life for a smart phone. 7.7
out of 10View score
The bad: No memory expansion; lacks Wi-Fi; weak tactile feedback from keypad; no Hold switch on the wired remote; no camera; bulky.
The bottom line: A generous built-in memory and overall good music features make the Sony Ericsson W950i yet another outstanding music-phone addition to the Walkman lineup.

Perfect non-camera Phone
May 31, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: No camera, Touch screen, 3G, various connectivity options, large memory (can be bigger), large screen, good loudspeaker and earphone provided, radio, Its a walkman and smartphone! and alot more!!
Cons: No Wifi, no mini usb port (usb through cable provided only), quite slow navigating in the contacts and messaging
Opinion:
For people who are not allowed digital imaging device or digital storage device in their workplace, this phone would be a great one. You wont have to be sticking with an old mobile phone that can do only basic call, sms and multimedia. With this phone, you will still be able to enjoy the extra goods of a 3G 'smart' phone while not breaching any rules. The OS and some functions are however quite buggy not user friendly in the begining... but once you get use to it, you'll never leave home without it.
Very good smart phone
Jul 23, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: pleasing form factor; phonebook capacity; generous storage; voice quality excellent; batt not bad!
Cons: UI can be better; buggy software; can use HSDPA & WiFi; questionable keypad durability
Opinion:
At first, tis phone sucked with its tiny icons & un-user friendly UI.
But after some learning process (2days), IMO tis thing is excellent.
Coming from N9300i Communicator, I did miss the wide screen, but realized dat I couldnt REALLY work on spreadsheet/doc either. Sooo, the miss of QuickOffice doesnt really bother me, as long as I have generous phonebook & full function calendar & NOTES.
HSDPA & WiFi could bring bigger smile, as well as camera (for emergency snap).
Voice call quality is alot better than 9300i! Th generous storage is also big plus.
Form factor excellent.
Th Graffiti needs sometimes to re-learn, but I think it is very good afterward.
I thought the walkman function was a gimmick. But, hey! It's nice gimmick!
Did I say form factor is excellent?
another SE phone that misses a lot of marks
Feb 5, 2007Rating: 2 out of 10 (Terrible)
Pros: 4GB memory, touch screen
Cons: no camera, quite big, not very 'pretty'
Opinion:
a music phone that leaves a lot lacking. how about adding some of the following to entice people to this type of phone:
1) quality camera with 4MP/ 5MP, autofocus, flash/ light with optical zoom maybe?
2)memory card slot to allow you to upgrade the memory.
3) a music player with a few more bells and whistles, eg: allowing you to arrange music files as you want, flasher musical graphics - like WMP?
4)what about being able to use the phone as a mass storage device - to store documents - could then be linked to computers and used as an external hard drive?
5) multi band/ world radio (FM, MW, LW, DAB) for people who travel a lot.
6) remote control in the headphones allowing you to control phone functions?
7) Battery with a longer life
8)A SLICKER DESIGN - something to make this phone stand out (MOTOMING? LG PRADA? APPLE iPHONE?)
9) GPS capabilities
