CNET Asia Review

The bad: Heavier than its hw6565 predecessor; rigid joystick; sluggish load times; camera shutter lag; only miniSD card slot; moderate battery life.
The bottom line: The hw6965, with the addition of GPS, is about as feature-packed as PDA-phones come at the moment. Performance isn't always the best, though.

GPS
Sep 4, 2008Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: GPS
Cons: GPS
Opinion:
Does anyone know whether if this is Assisted GPS or just conventional GPS? I can't get my Mapking working recently. I had never tried it since I purchased in 2006. Is it due to expiry or something is wrong with the phone? Do I need to connect to GPRS to activate or for proper installation of Mapking?
Troublesome huh?...
Not Happy!
Apr 14, 2008Rating: 2 out of 10 (Terrible)
Pros: GPS
Cons: GPS! Battery life abysmal, turns off at the drop of a hat.
Opinion:
After moving "up" from an old i-mate, I'm ready to throw the 6965 out the window and go back to the i-mate.
Battery life borders on the ridiculous. Even when using the car charger, if you have GPS on it cuts out after less than an hour. Without car charger, maybe 20 minutes. When it cuts out you lose phone pin. Even with 70% battery life, it turns itself off at virtually any time - especially in the middle of a phone call. Grrrrrr! (at least my Imate has a backup battery).
And when it reboots, it seems to come up on a completely random screen.
I thought my 6965 might be faulty but from what I have read on other sites, I'm not so sure. All these seems to be a common complaint amongst users
Simply Amazing.
Jan 26, 2008Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Very compatible with the availabe softwares out there and is very simple to learn and use.
Cons: Not WM6 upgradeable, Small built-in memory.
Opinion:
A good buy if you ask me. Its not that cheap but clearly not that expensive. Memory could be better and so is the battery life. Among its expensive brothers this is all in all a good candidate.
