benq S500 software bug
Nov 13, 2006Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: would be a good phone if it did not have the bug
Cons: Software version SW1 has a software bug
Opinion:
In letter mode BenQ S500 prints every other digit EXCEPT 0. For example if you write messages or create phone names or perform any other text operation, you must keep switching back and forth from letter mode to numeric mode to obtain digit 0. A related bug is that space malfunctions. Sometimes you get no space if you press once and one space if you press twice. At other times you get 2 spaces if you press twice. Spacing is unpredictable. Siemens hotline insults the consumer by calling the failure not a "software bug" but a "design limitation"! However, that failure is not mentioned in any specifications so you are not warned before buying the phone. The remedy is nullification of purchase agreement: return the phone and get your money back.
