The good: MP3 playback; 66MHz processor; bright, clear, transflective LCD; solid design; 16MB of RAM; stronger infrared port and software to control consumer electronics gear.

The bad: Unusable scroll button; Mac software not included.

The bottom line: This CLIE is an excellent handheld, but with similarly priced Pocket PCs already available and a new generation of more powerful Palm OS PDAs expected before Christmas, we hesitate to recommend it enthusiastically.
