Acer launches neoTouch and beTouch smartphonesMobile phone manufacturers are having a field day today showcasing their new devices with the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
Acer neoTouch The PC vendor which acquired Eten and formed the Smart Handheld Business Group in 2008 has launched a number of smartphones including the M900 and F900 to date. Previously known as the F1 which we've had a hands-on with, the upcoming neoTouch packs a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with built-in LED flash.
Acer beTouch E100/E101 The beTouch series comprises three devices: The E100, E101 and E200. The E100 and E101 were previously known as the C1 series. These handsets are targeted at the style-conscious users with interchangeable back covers in different colors. The E100 supports HSPA (7.2Mbps downlink and 5.76Mbps uplink) wireless connectivity, while the E101 runs on the slower EDGE network. Both handsets have a 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen, jog dial, 2-megapixel camera, Qualcomm 528MHz processor and Assisted-GPS (A-GPS).
Acer beTouch E200 The E200, on the other hand, comes with a 3-inch WQVGA touch panel, 3-megapixel camera, Qualcomm 528MHz processor, A-GPS and a slide-out numeric keypad. Update:According to Acer, the E101 will not be available in Singapore.All four devices announced today will feature a customized user interface on top of the Windows Mobile OS. The neoTouch and and E100 will be out in Singapore this month, while availability details for the E101 and E200 are pending confirmation.
