5 smartphones with WVGA displays
Screen resolution for mobile phones has been increasing steadily over the years. Currently, WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) is one of the highest you can get (leaving Japan's keitais out of the equation) on a smartphone. Why would you need such a panel, you ask? Well, aside from sharper images and videos, more text will fit in a single page so you can use a spreadsheet or word-processing application more effectively. Furthermore, reading e-books or browsing a Web page will be more enjoyable. The five smartphones featured here all use Windows Mobile, though we won't be surprised if other operating systems start embracing the WVGA resolution in the near future, too.
