Diamond, iPhone and X1 photos--the non-blurry version![]() This is how they stack up (from top: Diamond, iPhone, X1). Because of its keyboard, the X1 is much thicker than the rest. While the Diamond is about the same thickness as the iPhone, it is much lighter because of the use of materials and smaller length and width. If the iPhone's weight is ideal for your use, the Diamond may seem somewhat light in your hands. |

I am anticipating both the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 and HTC's Touch Diamond. Been having a blasty blast with my Sony Ericsson W800i for the longest, but now its time to upgrade my mobile ^_^
From the looks of all these phones, the Diamond looks to be quite lite yet packed feature-wise. I was close in purchasing the iPhone, but I don't even own an iPod or any Apple product. Honestly, its as if you must be part of some Apple cult to accept such gadget. This Sony Erisson W800i is the first phone I've had from the company and I've been very pleased by its features, performance, battery life and overall satisfaction. I'm hoping their X1 will continue this track.

I'll admit upfront that I admire apple produucts, but I don't think think any special fanaticism is required to "get" the iPhone. Just pick one up, feel it in your hand, then move your finger over the screen, resize a photo or two, then I expect you'll appreciate the UI. I believe it is a new paradigm for interacting with your computing platform, since I find myself wanting to work the same way with my desktop/notebook.

did i see the folding clock application on the HTC .. guess there are some pretty neat application on the diamond, as for the X1, the design begins to wear on me, looks like Sony always start strong but ending itself in mud just like the P1, i was so glad it came out in the end i didnt get it.. i think so is the X1..

I personally admire the X1, it's the first Sony Ericsson phone I like so far. The iPhone is undeniably the handset everyone's drooling for right now. HTC's Diamond has a nice set of features, perhaps better than the iPhone's but its smaller screen appears to be a major drawback. 3G is a big plus for the Diamond but I heard Apple's on it's way to making such feature available on the iPhone so I guess this would set a neck to neck battle by then.

I sympathise with you DJmakoto.... I haven't got any apple products and haven't used an apple since before the times of the Mac.... Nothing against Apple - just don't see myself as wanting or needing to join the throng so alas no iphone for me....
The pictures are great and I look forward to seeing the real touch diamond and xperia soon. Just a few issues though:
Xperia: no 3G, will memory (standard 128MB RAM??) be chewed up by the "panels" interface, thicker and heavier than touch diamond...
Diamond: how easy/difficult will text input be without keyboard, no memory expansion, will 192MB RAM be enough for the additional features/UI...
I currently use a Dopod 838pro and Nokia N95. I love them both but no 3G is a big deal for me as I travel to Japan fairly frequently.

I've been using Sony Ericsson K750i, pretty neat for such a compact phone.... I've never doubt Sony Ericsson products, but recently the latest phones firmware seems to be bit buggy. It seems it omen to all new products?
I'm a apple user, which also believes that their products never really much of a failure. I do take iPhone(3G Ver.) into consideration of my next purchase, but on the other hand, I would prefer a phone which comes with touch screen + keypad after I saw X1. HTC is cool indeed. 3G is wat i need too > Japan.
