5-megapixel camera-phones roundup

8.  Nokia 6220 classic

CNET Asia rating: 7.9 out of 10
The good: GPS; HSDPA; 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash.
The bad: Lack of 3.5mm headphone jack; lack of Wi-Fi.
The bottom line: The Nokia 6220 Classic is a great phone if you want a lot of features, but don't want to carry around a large handset. Our only disappointments are that the camera isn't as good as the one on the Nokia N82 and that there's no Wi-Fi.

9.  Nokia N82

CNET Asia rating: 7.7 out of 10
The good: Quadband GSM with HSDPA; Xenon flash with 5-megapixel camera; built-in GPS; A2DP; 3.5mm audio jack; microSD card slot.
The bad: Tiny keys; smaller 2.4-inch display compared with the two N95; microUSB port.
The bottom line: The N82 is an excellent all-round phone with an impressive list of specifications despite some niggles that could have been avoided.

10.  LG KC550

CNET Asia rating: 6.7 out of 10
The good: Solid phone; easy-to-use camera.
The bad: Lack of Xenon flash; lack of 3G.
The bottom line: The LG KC550 is a solid camera-phone with a reasonable price tag. Unlike the higher-end 5-megapixel camera-phones, this won't leave you out of pocket, but it doesn't have a Xenon flash, so don't expect great shots in low light.

11.  Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot

CNET Asia rating: 6.7 out of 10
The good: Fashionable, lean form factor; lots of camera features; flashier user interface; HSDPA.
The bad: Stiff, angled keypad; poorly located volume buttons; no Xenon flash.
The bottom line: The C902 Cyber-shot is mostly let down by some poor design implantations, but is still a decent camera-phone overall.

The good: Compact size; solid build; cool widgets interface; HSDPA; Bluetooth stereo; microSD expansion card slot.

Why is the N82 not here? It's better than the 2 N95s.

HouseBum says...
I agree, the N82 is one of the best 5 mp phones out there.
Also, the G600 seems to perform much better than the G800, but the Soul seems to be the best among the currently available Sammy models, not considering the Omnia or F480.

yup... i own N82 while my bro own N95 8gb.. comparing the pictures taken with both phones, N82 works better in term of quality n sharpness.. Also, my bro N95 8g also seems to be laggy n glitch when in video modes..

before, i use SEk850i, but only for three days.. Its sucks.. Trust me.. The picture quality are worse.. SE k810 are way much better eventhough its just 3 mega pixel...

this is a stupid roundup, its obvious that N82 is the best among the 5MP camera phone and its not number one in the list. what is winning the best mobile phone camera device for nothing. stupid list, they should erase this page

ferdiei says...
the list doesn't give justice to N82 alright, and has listed N95s redundantly, should have dropped the lower G600 Samsung model, & if ever (without much protest from readers) to be updated, must include the SE-C905, and perhaps the moto-zine for the last

ferdiei says...
oh, the SE-C905 is an 8MP & should belong to different league of shooters, or should i say camera-equipped mobile-phone/s

NightSilence says...
N82 should be no. 1 in this list! I noticed most comments also agreed on this!

I had SE K850 for a month and it was horrible, camera performance is so bad that I missed my old SE K800 and regretted trading it with K850.

People, let us be reasonable. If you are a nokia fan then of course you can't accept the fact that N82 couldn't make it to the top. The same thing goes for the SE fan being unable to accept the fact that c902 only scored 6.7. So, lets be rational and look at how points are given to individual phones^^ I am sure we will be able to come to a understanding. And one more thing, NightSilence, I would appreciate it if you would repent yourself for criticizing other phones as clearly you did not upgrade your k850i firmware to RIFA035 where the performance of the camera is greatly improved. Every phone have it's pros and cons therefore it's up to the individual to decide. Don't go around passing false alarms to SE user. Thank you for your cooperation.

bonghy: when I got my SE k850 there was no ready update and it stayed like this for like 3 months. Later on they started releasing updates.
