Handhelds that will get WM6

By John Chan

If you are buying a Windows-based handheld now, it's natural to want one that will support the latest OS. That OS is Windows Mobile 6 (WM6), which comes with a few new features to enhance the user experience.

The Treo 750 and 750v handhelds have already been slated for upgrades by Palm for some time. Now, it is finally going to happen with the rollout of the update happening by the end of September.

Some of these handhelds are upgradeable now, while others will be available at a later date. For those users planning to do their own updates by downloading the ROM, take special care to backup your data first. Remember that the process is done at your own risk, and CNET Asia will not be responsible for any damage or data loss that may occur. If in doubt, always check with the original manufacturer first.

Here's the list of handhelds that will be able to benefit from the features of WM6. Click on the links below the products to find out when and how the upgrades will be available.
