How to get music onto your Walkman phone

Using the software
Once you have installed the software, you can access it by going to the Start menu, selecting All Programs and then the Disc2Phone icon in the Disc2Phone folder. Once the program is open, you can plug in your Walkman phone.

Once your computer has recognised your phone, your phone screen will give you the choice of various USB modes. To use the Disc2Phone software, you should select the file transfer mode. Once your computer has found the right drivers, a window will appear called the Phone Connection Wizard. This will guide you through the process of connecting your phone to your computer and give you the option to name your phone.

After this process is over, you should see the words 'Phone card' in the grey box on the far right side of the Disc2Phone window--this is where you will store all your music.

On the left side, you will see a drop-down menu that lets you choose where you get your music from. You should select the folder where you have stored your MP3s, or can insert a CD and select tracks from there.

If you want to transfer tracks from a CD, select Audio CD from the drop down menu on the left side. Once you put the CD in, the tracks should appear in the middle window (pictured below). If you don't want to transfer all the tracks from the CD, select the tracks you don't want to transfer and click on the cross below the middle window. Once you have narrowed down the list to the files you want, click on the Transfer icon (in the top bar) and the application will start copying the music onto your Walkman phone.

If you are transferring MP3s from your computer, you can add a whole folder of music or just an individual track. If you make a mistake you can delete one track, or all of them using the two buttons at the bottom of the middle window (see below). You can also delete tracks off your phone with the two buttons at the bottom of the Phone card window.

The Disc2Phone software also gives you the option to shuffle the music in a random order and lets you adjust the bit rate. The higher the bit rate, the better the audio quality will be, but you won't be able to store as many tracks. We recommend a bit rate of at least 128Kbps.

Once you have transferred all the tracks onto your phone, the software will let you know that it is safe to unplug it. The tracks will not appear on your phone until you disconnect it from your computer.

Is there a convenient way to transfer music with Chinese titles (labeled in Chinese characters) from PC to phone? When I tried, they were all filtered out, and labeled as "unable to transfer" or something, until I rename them with Roman characters.

I've stopped using the Walkman software since then, and switched to USB and bluetooth.
