Windows Mobile devices in Asia

By CNET Asia staff

A wave of new devices will be flooding the market with Windows Mobile, thanks in no small part to the new version of the OS, Windows Mobile 6. The ideal situation would be that you can get any device you like wherever you are. But that's not always possible because companies may not release all their products in any given country. The Asia-Pacific region is a big place, and it's hard to keep track of your own country's launch timeline for so many devices.

Let CNET Asia do the dirty work for you. With help from Microsoft and the various handheld manufacturers, we've put together a list of upcoming Windows Mobile devices, and split them up according to where they will be launched. Click on your country's name to find out what you can be expecting.

Note that prices provided do not include taxes and operator rebates. They will therefore differ from country to country. Contact your local distributors and retailers for prices relevant to your area.

I can't believe that the Asus P750 is left out in your article for Singapore. It has been available in Singapore since December 2007. In fact, other than shops in Funan and Sim Lim, M1 outlets are also carrying it and they can be purchased with any mobile plans. Do update your list.

Thanks for your comment, prauun. I do know about the Asus P750. When I found out that it was launched in Singapore, we had already done the update for that particular month. Since this feature focuses mainly on products that are upcoming, we decided to concentrate on those that will be coming in the future.

On the bright side, I'm currently working on a full review of the P750, so look out for that!

Wow! John, you're reviewing the P750? I can't wait to read it. It's one of the WM6 handset I would really love to get because of its numeric keypads. I've been following PPCSG's forum pages on it. I've also tried it out at Sim Lim as they have a live-set there. Am eagerly waiting... waiting... for your review to come out. Hehe!

Thanks for the comment. We've now cleaned up the list of products, so it looks pretty bare now. But we're expecting to see quite a few new ones in the months to come, so expect some interesting updates soon.

Hi John,
any news on the HP iPaq 912? It's been "due in May" for months now but no sign of it. It also disappeared from various HP websites some months ago.
