User Review for Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot
Good but can be improved
Jul 21, 2009Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: user-friendly
Cons: some supposedly basic features not included
Opinion:
My first sony ericsson after all the while using Nokia - surprisingly very user-friendly and now prefer this than nokia, though it's a love-hate relationship with my C510. Good in that the buttons are not that difficult to navigate, ringing is loud and clear, and caller can hear me quite clear even outside. Though there are quite a few cons which I find should have been basic stuff not included; such as setting of calender tone. It's not possible to set ringing tone to our appts, it's set by default which is so low in volume how to hear unless we put our phone next to our ear all the time. So what's the use of having calender in this case. And my photos and ringtones have gone missing once. Thought I have accidentally deleted them, and re-download all only to find double entries the next day. Don't know why is this so. 3rd is recently whenever phone is switched on, there's a pop-up asking whether I want to reformat my memory card - yes or no which I clicked no of course. And only tonight when I tried to take a pic with the camera, a message saying "memory card unavailable". And when I can't seem to hear the reminder of appts, I tried setting them under alarms which has only 5 maximum settings. So I like my sony ericsson now but sometimes I really feel like going back to using nokia. Wonder is it just this model, and that I will find another better one. Actually the above are quite the basic features yet the good people at sony didn't think of incorporating the calendar tone, not even upgrage. By the way, anyone could advice what's the diff between the C, the W and other ericsson phones? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. Now thinking of getting the new W995 for its internet access feature, but just wonder is my C510 also able to surf and check email then no need to buy another one. The cust svc said cannot cos C510 got no wifi, yet when i compared both phones on its SE site, it ticked yes for both. And when I called up the service providers they said all mobile phones can access internet. I'm confused. If C510 can access internet, then I can save my $$$. Anyone can advise? Thinking of signing up broadband on mobile but W995 quite ex.
