User Review for Samsung SGH-F480
Beautiful on the outside but, not so on the inside.
May 12, 2009Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Very colourful menu icons, chargeble through USB cable, slim.
Cons: Difficulty in pressing or rather touching small areas. Limited word capacity - notes, titles, memos & to-dos.
Opinion:
I've been using this phone for about 3 months now, so I guess it's time to write my review.
Firstly, this phone is good on the surface. It has a full screen customizable wallpaper, but screensavers cannot be changed though.
There are some widgets that cannot be removed, like the Operator logo. It gets in the way, really. The menu is very colourful and pleasing to the eyes, but they cannot be rearranged.
What I like about this phone is, you can charge your phone while using the Samsung PC Studio. There's no need to use the charger, unless you're traveling. The vibration intensity can rhythm can also be changed.
On the other hand, messaging can be quite troublesome because my thumb always accidentally changes language whenever I want to cancel. Also, if I miss a word and I want to go type it in between the last 2 words, it's very hard to get the 'cursor'(whatever you call it) to the correct position.
Limited word capacity is also another con. For example, if I have a note, and I want to type it in my memo, I can only type 100 letters, which is way too short. It irritates me sometimes. Same goes for my calendar events. I can't even type "Ben&Jerry free cone day" because it only allows 15 letters.
While listening to music via earpiece or headphones, you receive a call, and after you hand up, the music won't continue playing automatically. you have to press 'yes' to continue playing the music.
Anyway, to others, this phone might be perfect. But once you own it, it really hinders your appointments because you can't even type fully.
The leather case gets dirty easily, I recommend buyers to get it in black or dark colours, because my tocco pink leather case is already dirty. Apearance wise, with ou witcout the case, the phone still looks awesome.
