User Review for HTC TyTN II

Beware of HTC After-Sales Support

Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: Better functionality than previous Dopods/HTC
Cons: Shock at repair cost quoted
Opinion:
I have been a loyal Dopod/HTC user for some years. My wife and I have used abt 3-4 different models between us.

I had the Tytn II for about 16 mths when I had a 'Missing SIM Card error' quite unexpectedly. After checking in for an assessment, was informed that it was a motherboard issue and the repair cost would come up to S$700-750! With the money, I might as well get a new phone.

This is the 1st time I've come across a product which didn't last the full 2 yr contract and have used a number of brands. I must say I'm now pretty disappointed with the HTC experience. The customer service centre didn't give us much of a choice. I told the CSO to forget it and return the phone back to me, which I then incurred a S$40+ charge (which I'm aware of).

I'm likely to switch brand after this. As a user, I feel pretty short-changed by HTC over this and I hope this experience would help others. HTC needs to do better to improve its customer mindshare.

Cheers.
