User Review for HTC Touch Diamond
All style and no substance
Jan 16, 2009Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: Looks Cool, good sized screen, wifi connectivity and GPS
Cons: Battery life is appalliing, Touch screen is unresponsive and ring volume is too low
Opinion:
I really, really tried to like this phone but after 4 months i've given up and sold it. It looks good, and is excellent for wifi connectivity but is crap as a phone.
The ring volume is too low, the touch screen is unresponsive when it should respond and too responsive when it shouldn't. I was forever disconnecting calls because my face had touched the screen or receiving call backs because i had inadvertently dialed a number whilst the phone was in my pocket or bag. I had to resort to third party firmware updates to resolve the issues, and these only resulted in other problems.
... and as for the battery life ... My God, what were they thinking. In order to get half a days use of the phone, i had to disable virtually everything. That meant disabling, bluetooth, wifi, beam, just about everything but the phone. And even then i had to resort to carrying 2 spare batteries.
All in all, a disappointly poor product. I've gone back to my old Nokia
