User Review for Samsung Omnia SGH-i900 (16GB)
The best PDA-phone for me
Jan 6, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: The cool form factor, full of features, battery life, light weight.
Cons: Memory storage a bit limited, risky firmware updates, no stylus (but rarely used anyway)
Opinion:
Omnia is the (almost) perfect phone for me. It's small, light weight. The GPS works flawlessly with iGO8 software and Garmin Mobile XT. The 5MP camera is fantastic, 16GB storage, accelerometer is cool, WiFi is great, FM Radio is a nice added feature.
Complaints I have (why I didn't give the perfect 10) are:
* Updating its firmware proved to be risky. Once I upgrade from DZHJ1 to DZHK3 firmware, the phone hang at the end of the process. Soft and hard reset failed. I was almost gave up on it. Luckily I found the solution in Modaco forum who suggest me to update the firmware in XP instead of in Vista environment... and voila, my Omnia comes back to life.
* Limited storage memory. I still don't get it, even though I install all the softwares I have in the 16GB storage, the phone main memory storage still shows almost full, now I only have 4MB left..:-(
Other than the two above, it's dream phone come true..:-)
