User Review for Moto Q 9h

Great looks = Sacrifice of functions

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Slim, solid build quality, very stylish, awesome keyboard
Cons: Should have had WinMo 6 professional OS, no wifi, no touchscreen, a little sluggish
Opinion:
This phone would have been perfect if it had Windows Mobile 6 Professional, touchscreen and wifi. Moto also could've done a better job if they just maintained the scroll wheel found on the previous version, the Q8.

Having departed from touchscreen phones (I previously owned a Treo 650, SE P990i and a Dopod 838 Pro), I found this smartphone somehow lacking in terms of the flexibility of the OS. Although it does look way better than any of those stated above, most especially the Dopod which is actually the primary reason as to why I switched to this phone. It fits perfectly in my pocket.

Had Motorola aimed this phone higher than the E71 and instead target those the likes of Dopod/HTC and included all the specs a PDA should have (most especially the wifi and touchscreen), I would have given this phone a perfect 10.

Although despite the lack of those features mentioned above, this is one great phone. It may lack a little in its feature set but what it does have is a solid build quality matched with a great design. I usually open up my phones to clean them. My previous phones were plastic so they tend to crack and the parts felt flimsy when taken apart. The Moto Q is very well put together and is quite the opposite of my old phones.

Bottom line, the trade-off in its features is made up by its great build quality and style. A smartphone focused more on those who care about style and don't mind not having all the available mobile technology crammed into one phone.
