User Review for Sony Ericsson W960i Walkman
Feature packed phone
Oct 28, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Large scratch resistant touch screen display, smartphone, wi-fi, walkman, large memory, multiple input (stylus, finger, jog key and buttons), decent camera with autofocus and dual-LED lights
Cons: Slow performance and I do miss having a 'normal' directional buttons sometimes
Opinion:
Like a lot of people have said before me this looks like one of the best phones available if you just look at the specs. It has everything you could ask for in a phone (se pros).
It has a pretty decent camera, even though there are better ones out there this is not a cybershot so I can't really complain. The LED-lights and autofocus makes it very useful nonetheless. The sound quality from the walkman is very good. I use an iPod touch together with it, so I don't really use the walkman player that much, but it is still very nice to have when you can't bring both or just want to listen to the radio. I have not used any screen protectors on it and the display is still as good as new which is very nice to see. I absolutely love the smartphone functions on it. One of the most useful being Quick Office, which lets you view and edit office, text and pdf documents. The email works very well too, would be nice with HSDPA though.
The only real thing that bothers me a bit is that the phone is a bit slow. It takes a second or two just to open up new text messages, which can be a bit annoying. I can't really agree with the 'official' review about the back button though. I'm right handed, and thus hold the phone in my right hand and scroll with my index finger. When I have to use the back key, I simply use the one that's on the screen's top right corner, prefectly located just a few millimetres from my right thumb.
If you're just after the walkman, you might as well get one of the other Walkman models. I would recommend this product if you want a smartphone with extra features.
