User Review for O2 Xda Atom Life
Its a PDA-phone, no bells and whistles please
Oct 28, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Very fast and capable
Cons: Frequent Hang and Locks with O2 supplied applications - O2 theme
Opinion:
All negative comments from earlier user reviews are true. But why I rate it 7-Very Good?
Yes, it hangs and locks forcing me to reboot WHEN I have O2 theme installed which has battery meters, new date/clock screen and a whole bunch of other applications. And Yes, it hangs when you are playing some of WM2003 games (Emperor's Mahjong, Lemonade Tycoon etc) and somebody ring you.
But, if you do not load the O2 theme and use the classic Today screen, its a very decent PDA phone. It play multi-media smooth and newer games fast and battery life is surprisingly long.
I played 60 minute game / multi-media and the phone is still capable of making / receiving many calls. And it has 1G ROM and fast CPU, PXA624. 2.0Mega Pixel camera with photo-light.
So if you don't need GPS, Toch-Flo, and other fancy stuff and just want a decent Windows mobile PDA phone, I think this is the one.
This review is based on my 2nd hand O2 XDA Atom Life with most updated mother board. It remember time/date after change battery. Ask for such feature if you are buying one :)

You will manage to test and find out your suitable setup. The phone can then be very stable. 7 out of 10 is a fair rating. It works out of the box if you do not install too many fancy stuff, hehehe :)
