User Review for HTC Touch

terrible after service.

Rating: 3 out of 10 (Poor)
Pros: slim, and possibly one of the cheapest windows mobile OS PDA phone around.
Cons: bad after service, bad after service, bad after service,
Opinion:
this was my first PDA phone, and i chose this over other phones because it was a windows based OS.

problem 1.

when surfing WIFI, and once you loses the signal. they will disconnect your WIFI, and attempt to connect to your GPRS. and if you are unaware of it. you will be wasting your dollars because of the GPRS charges.

problem 2.

the phone comes with a chinese software, CE Star. Using it needs registration, and after i installed it. i decided to register another day. and then it slip off my mind.

days later, i realised i lost all the messages in my phone, because it all turn blank.

and it was because of a case of a stuck stylus, that made me travel all the way to their ONE AND ONLY service centre in HARBOURFRONT, that i realised if you did not register the CE Star, they have the "right" to delete your message for "security" reasons.

problem 3.

after 8 months of usage, the phone suddenly resets on its own, and after a while, i cannot power it on. i sent the phone for servicing, and was told to call this 1800 number to verify whether the phone is ready.

the counter lady told me 2 to 3 working days.

i called after 2 days, the 1800 number, only to realise that it links me to a operator in TAIWAN, who cannot speak proper english, and can only tell me whether my phone is ready for collection. she cannot tell me whats the problem with my phone, or whats the estimated delay, because the system does not tell her that.

the harbourfront centre also does not have a number for you to call to check on the status of your phone, and i had to ask the taiwan lady to email to the singapore outlet and ask them to call me.

kudos for them to call me. and was promptly told that the phone will require 2 weeks to repair.

i thank them for the information, and bought another non HTC touch.

oh well.

my advice, do not get HTC, the PDA may be appealing, but the after service can be a huge pain in the ass.
